St Catherine's chapel, Hylton Castle

Built by William, lord Hylton in the late 14th or early 15th century. The gatehouse, the original core of the medieval castle, still remains.

There are a variety of crosses from Paul parish. Paul is situated just to the south of Newlyn.

Cornish is a distinct Brittonic language - close to Welsh and Breton.

Mount's Bay was a major trading area with five ports in the 14th century.

The church of St Creed is a building of much interest and beauty; the south aisle (in pre-reformation days the Jesus aisle, with its own altar) is

St Madern's (pronounced Madderne) is the mother church of Penzance. It is a large sized parish church in the Perpendicular style.

The parish church of St Keverne is dedicated to St Akeveranus.

Cape Cornwall is located near St Just-in-Penwith. It is the remains of a small medieval chapel, used as a farm building.

Until 1985 Madron was the Mother Church but Morvah has always been a parish in its own right with its own parish officers.
