Eastnor Probate Material 1621-1640

Witnesses to the will of Thomas Baulden, 1623 Herefs RO 33/3/9
There are only nine surviving wills for Eastnor people from the period 1621-1640.Four of them are nuncupative wills, oral statements of the deceased's intentions before credible witnesses, who then swore to the truth of the statment in the probate court. Three are for members of the same family, two brothers and the son of one of them. The status of the testators ranges widely from Richard Turner, status not given, through a husbandmen, three yeomen, a gentleman and an esquire.
