History of Dunster Hospital

When the hospital opened in 1867, Dunster  was still a centre for the area providing medical services among others. Doctors, surgeons and apothecaries had been based in Dunster for centuries but by the end of the 19th century Minehead was taking over the role of local centre and it was inevitable that the hospital would move there.
