Dunster Hospital

Grabbist House, formerly Dunster Hospital
Apothecaries and surgeons were based in Dunster from at least the early 17th century, serving the area around as well as Dunster itself, so it is not surprising that in the 19th century it was felt appropriate to open a cottage hospital there. In the 20th century the hospital moved to the centre of Minehead but in 2011 a new community hospital opened on land at Alccombe formerly in Dunster parish.
