The former Warren brickworks

The expansion of Minehead in the later 19th century brought additional demand for brick from the Warren brickworks, then run by Samuel Cornish and family. A wood distilling works was built north of the brickyard before 1872 when it was let to two Minehead chemical manufacturers. It had gone out of use by 1888 and the brickyard appears to have ceased working by 1910. However some of the buildings were incorporated into the clubhouse for the new Minehead golf links.
