A Beauty of Brighton

One of a series called the Beauties of Brighton printed in the mid 1820s soon after the construction of Brighton Chain Pier which can be seen in the background below the cliff into which an access drive has been cut, visible to the left of the lady. She is dressed for the autumn which is when Brighton was busiest. Bathing was not a summer activity.
