Gallox Bridge

Probably one of the best known medieval packhorse bridges in Britain, Gallox Bridge was possibly built in the 15th century alongside the ford, although it has probably been rebuilt several times. This was formerly an important crossing giving access to several routes and near the grain and fulling mills. Causeways on either side lead to the double-arched bridge which still carries a public footpath over the river.
