Pelynt Parish

The name Pelynt is a corruption of the Celtic PLU-NENT which means "the Parish of St Nonna". The church was dedicated to St Nonna, the mother of St David of Wales, who was patron saint of the chapel (now destroyed) and the holy well at Ninnies near Hobb Park on the West Looe River, which divides Pelynt parish from Duloe.
Parish Church Pelynt information booklet available in the church.
