Will of William Saintbarbe, clerk, 1619

This is a transcript of William Saintbarbe, clerk, dated 16 March 1618/19 and proved on 11 June 1619. He was a prebenary of Hereford Cathedral and rector, or 'parson', of Eastnor. As such,  he requested to be buried in the chancel of Eastnor church. Unfortunately there is a gap in the burial registers April 1617 - January 1626, nor does there appear to be a memorial to him in the church.

Amongst the many interesting items in this long will is his bequest of named books to Hereford Cathedral Library. Sadly, they have not been identified in the current catalogue of the Library.
