Will of William Howless/Howleys of Dummer, 1517

Howless/Howleys’ will was written in Latin. He left bequests exceeding £13 12s. 8d to his six children, grandchildren and supervisor. His daughter Amy received a larger portion for her dowry. He left monetary gifts to the churches of Winchester, Farleigh Wallop, Nutley, Woodmancott, Popham and North Waltham as well as Dummer. He also bequeathed his newly built house to the church of Dummer in spite of leaving a wife to survive him.
