Will of Walter Frensshe, 1476. Walter held burgage properties in Cheltenham, and land in Naunton tithing. The Frensshe/Frenche family had been established in Cheltenham for some time; Walter served as bailiff to the manor of Cheltenham (Gwen Hart, History of Cheltenham p48), and his brother was a chaplain there at the time the will was made.
