Will of Roger Smith, yeoman, 1607

Roger Smith was the tenant of the second largest Corpus Christi copyhold (no. 11). The farmhouse, called the Farm, still survives at the northern end of the Street. Smith was a wealthy man with trading interests in timber and malt in north Hampshire. His will was proved in the prerogative court of Canterbury in June 1607.
