Will of John Raster, yeoman, 1587

Raster, a yeoman, owned an inn in Southwark as well as presumably his holding in Basing. He had no direct heirs but a large family of cousins to whom he made provision in money and goods. His uncle Thomas Lampard of Alton was appointed executor, and his son John inherited the Three Crowns in Southwark, with instructions for £10 of the rents to be paid to the children of another cousin. His Master John Charter of Basing was appointed overseer.

It was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury as he had goods in two southern dioceses.
