This very long and detailed will was proved at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, as the testator had property not only in many parshes in Herefordshire, but also in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. This included mills and a park at Tewkesbury.

Although written after the accession of the Protestant Queen Elizabeth, its opening religious preamble retains the form of older Roman Catholic wills: First and before all things I do give and commend my soul into the infinite mercy of the most glorious and blessed Trinity to our blessed lady Saint Mary and to all saints'.
