Will and Inventory of William Barret, yeoman, 1613

Barret, a yeoman, had 200 sheep, six carthorses, 10 cattle and also wheat in ‘Cliddesden fields’ and in ‘Basingstoke fields’. His inventory provides a good example of household goods, including 'a nut tipped with tin' and farming produce of the period; the value was appraised at £263. He left 3s. 4d. to the poor of the parish as well as gifts to Cliddesden church and Winchester cathedral.
