Will and Inventory of Thomas Mathewe the younger, husbandman of Hoddington, Upton Grey, 1617

Matthew, a husbandman, lived in Hoddington and left an estate valued at some £35. After bequests of a sheep each to his daughter Joane and her child, he left the remaining 19 sheep to his son, James, and his horse to his son, Thomas. His daughter Annis received an acre of wheat and £10 was left to his daughter Adrian on reaching 16 or marrying before then, the residue going to his wife Alice.
