Will and Inventory of Thomas Kent, yeoman, 1638

Thomas Kent was the son-in-law of John Canner, the freeholder who died in 1641 and who is commemorated with his wife, Anne, in a brass in Mapledurwell church. Kent died young and clearly possessed lands in Hampshire beyond Mapledurwell, perhaps in Vernham Deane as he left money for the poor of that parish. He may have kept his sheep on his father-in-law’s land in Mapledurwell.
