Will and inventory of John Turner, curate of Up Nately, 1572

Turner, curate of Up Nately, was the poorest testator of the 16th century, with only his clothes, a little kitchen equipment and his bedding in his hall and chamber valued at £2 7s. 2d. in 1572. He was described with the traditional Catholic title of Sir for the clergy and was apparently unmarried and left the little he possesssed to the church, the poor and his seven godchildren.
