Will and inventory of John Goringe, dyer and yeoman, 1630

Goringe was a wealthy dyer working in the local woollen industry. He had £70 worth of dyes and equipment. His inventory was worth £580. Richard Butler 1649 had bought a messuage from John Goringe gent for £10. Probably son of John (1590) and Alice Goring (1606); she left him 40s in gold. John Goringe 1636, fellmonger, was possibly his son. Bailiff 1602-3, 1610-11, 1616-17, Burgess 1622 & 1624.
