Will and inventory of Johane/Joan Lookar, Andwell, widow of Gilbert, 1594

Joanne Lokar left the lease of Florentyne's House in Basingstoke to her son, Gilbert, in addition to the 100 sheep, 5 cows and 4 oxen which were left to her personally rather than in trust for her children by her late husband, Gilbert. She left her own 'wedding red purse' containing £40 to her daughter, Joanne. She also left bequests to the poor of Basingstoke, Up Nately, Mapledurwell, Old Basing, Newnham, Farnham (where her mother was buried) and Rotherwick. Lokar lived in Rotherwick before moving to Andwell.
