Will and inventory of Henry Aston, yeoman, 1687

This is a trancript of the will and inventory of Henry Aston, yeoman. Being 'aged and weak but of good and perfect memory' he made his will on 12 August 1680. He would appear not to have died for another six and a half years, for his goods were appraised on 2 February 1687. On 10th February the court recorded tthe statment of the rector William Stone that 'that Jane the wife of Henry Aston lately deceased, by reason of her age and weakness, is not able to appear at the court.'
Jane lived for another three and a half years herself. Her will and inventory make intereting comparisons with those of ther husband. The value of his goods was assessed at £88, including £40 out on bond. By the time she died, her goods were valued at £103 11s, with £60 out on bond.
