Will and inventory of Edmund Daniell, senior, grocer, 1638

Daniell was described as a grocer but the contents of his shop are much more varied than those of a modern grocer’s shop and include haberdashery, hardware, books, household and personal goods, fabrics and threads. Items listed included ribbon, laces, spectacles, sewing thread, fabrics, sleeves, caps, garters, hooks, girdles, combs, pins, psalters and grammars, rabbit skins, nails, currants, turpentine and primer, vinegar, onion seeds, ginger, pepper, spices, brushes, candlesticks, shoehorns, weights and scales, and oil. He was a very wealthy man.
