Will and Inventory of Ambrose Bickner, yeoman and blacksmith, 1608

Bickner was a wealthy blacksmith who left an estate valued at some £374, a large proportion of which was represented by crops and livestock. He left his house and six acres of free land to his wife for life, then entailed to his eldest son and his heirs male. Another property in Upton Grey is left to his second son also with provision that it pass to his next two sons in default of male heirs.
