Wayside Cottage in Upton Grey
Wayside Cottage in Upton Grey had multi-period alterations.
It is a two-storey house at a right angle to the street that has been thrown over a single-storey building parallel to the street. Both buildings have the small-panel framing and short, straight braces typical of the early C17. Although they were built at separate times, there is no obvious reason for dating the earlier phase to the C16. The 2-storey house has 2 rooms with axial spine beams and an end stack. Many re-used timbers.
