The Vyne Community School

Originally constructed in 1941 as Queen Mary's Grammar School for boys after the premises in Worting Road became overcrowded and dilapidated.  By 1972 the school merged with the adjacent Charles Chute boys' school to become a mixed sex comprehensive.  The name of The Vyne reflects the nearby former home of the Sandys and Chute families.
