Sweet's hotel sale, 1839

A further sale was held in 1839 of the remaining hotel contents including goose feather beds, carved mahogany four poster bedsteads and a beer engine. Also reflecting that this had been a posting house and Mary Sweet had horsed the Bristol to Exeter stage coach, there were  twelve posting horses with saddles and harness in the sale.
