St Michael's church, Alcombe

The foundation stone of the new church was laid in 1902 and by May 1903 a nave and temporary chancel were completed by C. Samson and dedicated. In 1925 a chancel was designed by Sampson and Colthurst but was not built until 1937 when a lady chapel was also added. A medieval doorway was incorporated into the porch and an 18th-century pulpit and Victorian communion plate installed, all from Dunster church.
