Somerton war memorial

This fine memorial records the men of Somerton who died in the First World War. Lt Col Pretor Pinney DSO who died in 1917 came from the family that had owned Somerton Randall manor since 1799. He was not the only casualty. Giles Robert Pretor Pinney who held the estate from 1935 was also killed in action in 1942.
