Somerton chancel

The chancel was probably rebuilt in the 15th century and has large perpendicular windows. Work was carried out on the chancel roof in the 1560s and the plaster frieze may date from that period. The chancel was restored in the early 20th century and domestic Jacobean paneling was introduced and additional panelling reproduced to create a reredos in keeping with the early 17th-century church furnishings.
