Sketch of south front of Parham House made in the 1830s

The early 18th-century Bisshopps made the house look fashionable by adding curved profiles to the gables in French Baroque style, and replacing the Elizabethan mullioned and transomed windows with sashes. By the 1830s the triangular shape of the original gables was grinning through the render. Their work was almost entirely removed by the Victorians.
