Site of Lamanna Chapel above West Looe

St Michael’s chapel was built here in the 12th century as a place of pilgrimage to replace the original island chapel. After Glastonbury Abbey sold Lammana in the late 13th century it was used as a parochial chapel until 1548.
In this view the outline of the walls of the chancel and the south porch can be clearly seen.
