Remains of foundry, Watchet

Now that the foundry's furnaces and workshops have been removed the walls constructed against adjoining properties to the annoyance of the Wyndham estate which owned them can be clearly seen. They were constructed of rough rubble to support the roof. There were complaints not only of encroachment, for which small payments were charged, but of flames from the furnaces leaping through the tiles only a few feet from adjoining premises.
