Nettlecombe church and Court

The proximity of manor house and church shows the proprietorial nature of the relationship. The Raleghs and their successors the Trevelyans held the patronage of the living. When the village was moved to create a park and lawns around Nettlecombe Court the church was left isolated beside the manor house.
