Mary Sweet's licence

Mary Sweet was not forgotten and the hotel was still popularly known as Miss Sweet’s and her name still graces the side entrance under Castle Bow. Indeed the licensing authorities still referred to it as Sweet’s Hotel decades after Mary had left. The painted licence information is a fitting memorial to the woman who created the hotel.
