Inventory of John Cotterell, 1648

Cotterell had a large store of barley and some wheat. He also had crops growing in the common fields of Steventon of wheat and vetches. His house had a number of service rooms but only a hall and two chambers of living accommodation. He was a copyholder of the manor of Steventon.

The inventory illustrates the thefts made by soldiers in the civil war as they had taken Cotterell's best linen.
