Inventory of Gregory Mathew, yeoman, 1663

Gregory Mathew was the son of Nicholas whose will was proved in 1646. Like his father, he was tenant of the chief Corpus Christi College copyhold (no.15), Manor Farm, and also tenant of one Corpus Christi copyhold called Hooklands in Newnham. He was a very wealthy man (inventory valued at £502), with 260 sheep on pasture land in the adjoining parishes of Tunworth and Up Nately.
