Inventory and Renunciation of Thomas Payne, yeoman 1661

Payne was a yeoman and left goods to the value of £108 including malt, wool and cloth and had 20 a. of land with mixed crops. Thus he was employed in both the old and the new industries of Basingstoke. He appointed his wife and cousin to be guardians of his son but his wife renounced this obligation.
