House and shop possibly the former Horse and Crooks, Dunster

This is probably the site of the former Horse and Crooks inn originally the Glove. The Glove inn was kept by Sarah Delbridge, probably in succession to George Delbridge innkeeper from the 1650s to 1690s. It was a large house with five rooms on each floor. Like the Ship it belonged to the Luttrells and had fallen in hand by 1738. It was re-let in the 1740s as the Horse and Crooks and remained open west of High Street and south of the former Angel with a large stable and brewhouse. There was a cooperage at the inn in the mid 19th century. By 1901 it was dilapidated and closed but by 1906 was a private hotel and later a shop.
