HMS Dulverton

On 13 November 1943 HMS Dulverton was bombed in the Aegean Sea near Kos, Greece at 1.45 am. Her bows were blown off and she was set on fire. Two other ships HMS Belvoir and HMS Echo picked up survivors and HMS Belvoir torpedoed the remains of HMS Dulverton. The commanding officer and 77 other crew members lost their lives but the remaining 121 men were rescued. A modern bell hangs in the church in memory of those who died.
