Higher Flax Mills former ropewalk

There were extensive ropewalks at Higher Flax Mills as Donnes produced rope, twine and cord. This section was covered in in the early 20th-century to create a weaving shed for upholstery webbing. It was painted wiith camouflage paint in the Second World War and remains in commercial use.
