Farm Road prefabs, Street

Due to problems with building after the First World War Clark’s experimented with prefabricated housing for their workers in 1921.
The houses were made out of redundant First World War army huts. They are timber-framed and weather boarded. Each house is square in plan with an extension at the rear for a bathroom and coal shed. Many retain their original joinery.
