Emma Louise

The last working Minehead coastal vessel was the Barnstaple built ketch Emma Louise, which supplied Minehead gasworks with coal during the mid 20th century.  She delivered her last cargo of coal in 1953 before being laid up to rot near Appledore. She is shown in the painting of Christ walking on the water that forms the reredos in St Peter on the Quay.
