Cottage adjacent to 'Garsides'

This narrow two up, two down detached cottage of the pre 1876 period situated next to the furniture shop has unusual heavy ornate barge boards (see photograph 5),the stone sills and lintels are original. The empty plot next door was the site of three 1840s cottages and Mrs Ansell’s grocery shop, demolished in the mid-1930s and later used as a builder’s yard belonging to Mr Machin of nearby Albert Street.
