The population had increased to 446 of whom 360 were born in Hampshire.
The number of agricultural labourers had fallen to 31. There were six farms.
There were 12 employed in the building industry mainly as bricklayers and 10 employed on the railway mainly as platelayers.
Socially there were 14 residents living on their own means without working, four paupers on parish relief and 30 domestic servants.
The rector was born in Suffolk.
