Bishop's Palace, Wells from cathedral

In this view of the palace site the moat can be seen in the foreground and in the background is the site of the deerpark. The palace site was walled from the mid 14th century. To the rear of the site is all that remains of the later 13th-century great hall. In the angle with the main range is the bishop's chapel. To the front of the view adjoining the moat is the 15th-century Bishop's House.
