Barrington Court west wing

The west wing of Barrington Court was the service wing. However, in a break with medieval tradition that is not obvious from outside. The fenestration matches the rest of the house even though the south windows are false. The ground floor is occupied by the kitchen and its great fireplace fills the south wall. It was linked by a service passage to the great hall behind the central porch. A staircase opened off the passage occupying the angle tower.
