1881 census

In 1881 there was a population 107 living in 22 households. The school master’s house for the United Board School (1876) was one of two additional households. There were 55 male and 52 female residents; 15 married couples*, one unmarried head of household, four widowers and two widows. A greater variation of birth place was seen: 35 were born in Fareligh Wallop, 29 in the surrounding area, 24 elsewhere in Hampshire and 19 outside the county. A new occupation was that of school master. The number of children attending school rose to 24, including two 13 year olds and an 18 year old, presumably a pupil-teacher.
