1861 Census

This comprised the whole of the extra parochial place of Andwell containing Andwell Farm, Andwell Mill and the two cottages near.

The population had reduced to 26 and the mill had been taken over by Thomas Hutton, a 25 year old unmarried man. Andwell Farm was stated to be 180 a. and employed ten workers. A tile maker was listed, possibly connected with the brick works nearby.
