Will of Samuel Astin, tanner 1692

Astin was a tanner who left bequests of 1s. to each of four of his five brothers, £4 to each of five nephews and a niece. The son of the fifth brother was to receive £100. He also bequeathed 40s. to his apprentice when he attained the age of 22. He referred to friends in Alton, Baughurst and Holybourne, perhaps indicating that he traded with them. His will was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.
