Will, Inventory and Renunciation of William Worrall glazier, 1672

Worrall was a glazier with glass and lead in his shop, but also four acres of land and a malthouse adjoining his house. He bequeathed everything to his wife and then to his eldest son after her decease. It seems that he had three other children in their minority. He appointed his son and father in law as executors who renounced any claim to the property inherited by Worrall’s wife. Malting was replacing cloth as the main industry in Basingstoke by this time.
